After India’s dominant win in the first Test match, West Indies’ poor batting stats have emerged, highlighting their struggles in the series.

Delhi, New Delhi: In the opening test of their two-match series, the West Indies suffered a crushing defeat at the hands of team India. From October 2 to October 4, India and the West Indies faced off in the series’ opening test at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium.

India won the match by an innings and 140 runs after restricting the team to 162 runs in the first innings, then scoring 448 and dismissing the visitors for just 146. The batting attack of the West Indies did not play well during the game, and their statistics clearly reflect their recent performances.

It is noteworthy that the West Indies’ 2025 batting average is a pitiful 15.6 runs. Out of all the full member countries, this average is the lowest. With a batting average of 20.87 runs, Zimbabwe is the team in second position in the rankings and still at least five runs/wickets ahead of the Windies.
