Amrit Bharat Express 3.0 adds AC coaches and a pantry car with a 22-coach layout, including First, Second, Third AC, sleeper, and general classes for better comfort.

The Amrit Bharat Express will now also have AC carriages, according to reports from Muzaffarpur. At the Chennai Rail Coach Factory, the production of these coaches is moving along quickly. A new 22-coach version of the train, comprising sleeper, general, and AC coaches, has been approved by the Railway Board.

Indian Railways plans to install air-conditioned (AC) carriages on the Amrit Bharat Express for the first time in order to improve passenger comfort. Construction is moving quickly at the Integrated Coach Factory (ICF) in Chennai for the planned third iteration of the train, Amrit Bharat 3.0, which will have a combination of AC, Sleeper, and General classes.

The new coach composition has been formally authorized by the Railway Board. All railway heads, including the East Central Railway, have received an official letter outlining the new arrangement from Jayant Ramchandran, Director of Mechanical Engineering (PU) at the Railway Board.

The 22-coach enhanced Amrit Bharat Express will have the following layout:    general class  Four coaches

First air conditioner: one coach

Second AC: two coaches

Third AC: six coaches

Class of Sleepers: 6 coaches

general class : 4

Divyangjan coaches :  2

Car with AC Pantry: 1

The Amrit Bharat’s Evolution

The Amrit Bharat Express was introduced in 2023 as a high-quality, reasonably priced service for travelers in the low- and middle-income brackets. Three iterations of the train have been developed:

Version 1.0: Only Sleeper and General coaches were available, and it had a push-pull layout with motors at both ends.

Version 2.0: To improve onboard services, a pantry car was added.

Version 3.0: Including First, Second, and Third AC coaches, this most recent version represents a major improvement.

The revised design has been communicated to the Modern Coach Factory in Raebareli, the Rail Coach Factory in Kapurthala, and the Integral Coach Factory in Perambur (Chennai) in order to streamline production.
