Greater Noida ATS acquires advanced rope launcher with 100m range and 300kg capacity to boost counterterrorism, rescue, and emergency operations
To help them scale buildings and navigate challenging terrain, the Greater Noida Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has purchased a contemporary rope launcher. The contraption, which has impressed spectators with its ability to lift 300 kg and travel up to 100 meters, has been a focal point at the India Expo Mart.
In an effort to improve counterterrorism capabilities, the Greater Noida Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has been outfitted with advanced weapons and specialized equipment, such as a recently unveiled long-range rope launcher. The gadget, which was on display at the UP International Trade Show at India Expo Mart, has garnered a lot of interest because it can travel 100 meters in a single launch.
Three to four people can carry equipment while climbing multi-story buildings or crossing rivers thanks to the rope launcher, which functions similarly to a rifle. This is a big increase over the previous model, which had a range of only 30 to 40 meters. The nylon rope is appropriate for emergency evacuations, counterterrorism operations, and rescue missions because it can support 300–350 kg at a time.
The launcher employs compressed air or CO2 gas to move the rope toward an anchor point, according to ATS Head Constable Pradeep Sharma, who gave a demonstration of the device at the Expo.
The rope serves as a strong bridge that allows workers to safely climb or descend after it is fastened. The actual launcher weighs 10–11 kg, is simple to use, and needs little upkeep.
The gadget will be essential in combating terrorism, enabling quick mobility in difficult terrain, and carrying out rescue missions in an emergency, according to officials.
