Meerut to get 10 new Aadhaar centers with waiting areas, verification counters, and support desks; open daily for public convenience.

The government of Meerut plans to build ten new Aadhaar service centers in the city shortly in an effort to accommodate the growing number of Aadhaar applicants. Similar centers will be established in each of the district’s 479 communities once they are fully functional.

According to Nupur Goyal, Chief Development Officer, these centers will be open seven days a week, including Sundays, from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm, so locals won’t have to wait long to receive their Aadhaar cards.

The old system, in which private individuals may run public service centers, will be replaced by the deployment of contract government employees at these centers.

While it is anticipated that Aadhaar card issuance will continue to be free, updating an existing card may incur a small price of Rs 50. The ten new city centers’ sites will soon be revealed.

Relatedly, the connection road that connects Baghpat Road and Railway Road behind Jain Nagar is almost finished. Sanjay Kumar Meina, the vice-chairman of the Meerut Development Authority (MDA), and Dr. Laxmikant Bajpai, a member of the Rajya Sabha, paid the owner of the private land needed for the project almost Rs 1 crore on Thursday.
