15th   such incident of bridge collapse in Bihar was observed on Tuesday morning, in temporal spam of less than one month. Enormous amount of bridge has been collapsing in northern Bihar. One of the latest bridges that collapsed was a situated on Parman river at Amhara village in Araria district of forbesganj block, an official of the state said that this bridge was collapsed due to heavy flow of river.

Enayat khan who is the magistrate of Araria district told to the sources that this bridge was built by the rural works department also known as RWD in 2008 and it was earlier damaged in 2017 when the floods occurred, after that it was closed for commute of the people.

Prabin kumar who is the executive engineer of RWD came forward and told that “this bridge of Araria district was declared unsuitable for the use in 2017, but it was repaired and restored in 2020 again. Our office has sent a check list of this bridge to the higher officials in the department”, he stated.

Almost 2 weeks ago, the state government had suspended fifteen engineers that had some connection in the bridge collapses that happened before. This decision was taken right after probe panel submitted their report to the water resources department also known as WRD.

 

Chaitanya Prasad who is the additional chief secretary of WRD told the sources that, the report found out that the primary cause of the state’s bridge collapse was the engineer’s negligence and insufficient monitoring of those bridge
