PM Modi Reviews Defence Strategy After Ceasefire Violation by Pakistan
NEW DELHI — In a crucial move reflecting heightened regional tensions, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday chaired a high-level national security meeting at his 7, Lok Kalyan Marg residence. The meeting came a day after India and Pakistan agreed to a ceasefire that was swiftly violated, sparking renewed concerns of instability along the Line of Control (LoC).

The meeting was attended by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, External Affairs Minister Dr. S. The primary agenda was assessing the security situation post-ceasefire violation and evaluating India’s strategic and operational posture following the recent terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam.
Pahalgam Terror Attack: The Spark Behind the Crisis
The current crisis began with a brutal terror attack in Pahalgam on April 22, which claimed the lives of 26 tourists, including 25 Indians and one Nepalese national. The incident triggered a wave of outrage across the country and prompted swift military retaliation from India.
