Rajasthan Urban Infrastructure Project (RUIDP) organized a workshop on 24 hour drinking water supply in Jaipur city.

 

Engineers from RUIDP, RUIDP and DLB participated in the workshop. Challenges in implementing 24 hour drinking water supply were discussed in detail and field experiences were shared.

 

Centre Director of Administrative Staff College of India, Hyderabad, Professor S. Chari explained in detail about the basic reforms and requirements.

He suggested solving the problems by citing best practices of India and abroad and examples of cities that have achieved 24 hour drinking water supply.

Additional Project Director (II) of RUIDP, Dr. Hemant Kumar Sharma said that the workshop was very beneficial for the engineers of the project implementation units and told them to share their experiences in the workshop and learn from the best practices.

Engineers working in Sri Ganganagar, Jhunjhunu, Pali, Tonk, Laxmangarh, Sardarshahar, Kuchaman City, Banswara, Sirohi, Abu Road, Mandawa and Khetri project cities participated in the workshop.

 

Watco (Water Corporation of Odisha) Project Manager Shri Chinmay Tripathi explained the 24 hours drinking water supply scheme running successfully in various cities of Odisha through a presentation. Dr. Snehlata explained in detail the role of public participation, IEC and behavior change activities in reducing non-revenue water in Hyderabad homes.

 

RUIDP Additional Project Director (First) Shri D.K. Meena, Financial Advisor Mrs. Jigyasa Gaur, Additional Chief Engineer Shri K.K. Nattani, Deputy Project Director (Technical) Shri Kapil Gupta, Deputy Project Director (Administration) Shri S.S. Khidiya and other engineers were present in the workshop.
