CEO Office Collaborates with MARKFED to Ensure Comfortable Voting Experience

Chandigarh, May 31, 2024 : To ensure the comfort of voters and provide relief from the prevailing heat wave, Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Punjab, Sibin C has arranged for the distribution of Gulab Sherbat at all 24,451 polling stations across Punjab for voting tomorrow, June 1. This initiative aims to offer a refreshing beverage to electors, helping them beat the heat while exercising their democratic right.

Providing information on this initiative, Sibin C stated that it is a collaborative effort between the Punjab CEO Office and the Punjab State Cooperative Supply and Marketing Federation Ltd (MARKFED). He said that it is his office’s commitment to making the voting process as smooth and comfortable as possible for citizens. By offering Gulab Sherbat, a locally produced beverage, MARKFED is also promoting the rich tradition of ‘Make in Punjab’ products through the cooperative movement, he added.

Girish Dayalan, MD of MARKFED, said that MARKFED is honored to contribute to the democratic process by ensuring voters remain hydrated and comfortable during the elections. He added that MARKFED’s Gulab Sherbat represents the quality and commitment of Punjab’s Cooperative Sector.The distribution of Gulab Sherbat will take place in all districts and polling stations throughout the state. MARKFED’s participation underscores its dedication to supporting local products and empowering local communities, he added.

The CEO stated that ensuring a comfortable voting experience is paramount and that the provision of Gulab Sherbat is a testament to his office’s collaborative efforts with the local community to enhance voter turnout and participation.
