Rishikesh: On Sunday, the Ganga River’s water level increased in Rishikesh during Uttarakhand’s deluge of rain.

The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) alerted travelers and advised them not to stay at the ghats at night when the river’s water level approached the Triveni Ghat Aarti Sthal.

The people living along the riverbanks have been relocated, according to Lokjeet, the Superintendent of Police (Rural), Dehradun, who also stated that the police are in regular communication with the administration.

“The water level rise was anticipated earlier. We maintain continuous communication with the relevant departments and the administration. Preventive measures are also being taken by the police. There have been evictions from those living close to the riverbank. People are being discouraged from accessing the riverbanks, according to Lokjeet, Dehradun’s Superintendent of Police (Rural), in an interview with ANI.
