Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami convened a meeting in the Secretariat on Tuesday to discuss the newly constituted Setu Commission’s action plan and urged officials to develop an effective policy for the next two years.

During the introduction of the State Institute for Empowering and Transforming Uttarakhand (SETU) Commission’s action plan, the Chief Minister stated that SETU should pay special emphasis to skill development and self-employment.

Efforts should be taken to ensure that the state’s young do not have to seek jobs outside of the state. Special focus should be made to the streamlining of skill development plans and strategies,” he said.

The Chief Minister stated that any action plan developed should be completely apparent on the ground within the next two years.

He asked authorities to create development plans for the districts based on their geographical characteristics.

The Chief Minister stated that the SETU Commission was formed with the goal of developing strong and robust policies in the state, effectively implementing schemes, developing an effective work culture, implementing schemes while maintaining a balance between development and the environment, and maintaining effective monitoring of the schemes.

“The Setu Commission should work on such schemes in which the overall development of the state is a priority,” according to him.

CM Dhami stated that all departments should focus on result-oriented and good governance-based action plans.

The Uttarakhand Chief Minister went on to say that the plans should be marketed through numerous means so that every member of society benefits from them, and that basic techniques of promotion should be used.

“If necessary, a user-friendly portal (application) should also be developed. Technology should be employed as much as possible so that the general public is aware of their initiatives. CM Dhami stated.

He stated that work should be done to create a data ecosystem in the state so that projects can be easily evaluated, and departmental outcomes can be monitored.
