Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Dhami on Tuesday emphasised the importance of “mother power” in addressing the challenges of modern times during the Matru Sanskar Samagam organised by Vishwamangalya Sabha. Speakers at the event noted that in the face of rapid technological and social changes, a strong vision of mother power is essential to nurture families, which in turn build a better society and nation.

Dhami, who attended the concluding session, said, “Mothers are the creators of our sacraments,” highlighting their central role in shaping society.

The programme was held at Government Doon Medical College and Hospital with multiple sessions, including special sessions for mothers from families of public representatives. This marked the first event of Vishwamangalya Sabha in Uttarakhand, organised through the efforts of social thinker Geeta Dhami. Key attendees included National Consultant Prashant Hartalkar, Vrishali Tai Joshi, Vikas Foundation President Mridula Dharmendra Pradhan, Rajya Sabha member Rekha Sharma, All India Convenor of Public Representative Family Relations Department Dr. Anuradha Yadav, and Dr. Pooja Deshmukh. The programme was conducted by Jyoti Kotia.

CM Dhami reflected on his personal journey, saying that the ability to dream big and achieve goals despite limited resources became the foundation of his strength. He emphasised that while every individual has the right to make personal decisions, it is crucial to balance modernity with traditional family values such as sacrifice, cooperation, responsibility, and emotional engagement.

Seven Women Felicitated with ‘Mother Shakti Samman’

During the event, CM Dhami honoured seven women for their outstanding contributions in various fields with the Mother Shakti Samman. The recipients were Mamta Rana, Mamta Rawat, Shaila Brijnath, Sadhvi Kamlesh Bharti, Rajrani Agarwal, Manju Tamta Vasushree, and Kavita Malasi.

Preserving Indian Values Amid Modern Challenges

Also present was Vrishali Joshi, All India Organisation Minister of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), who emphasised the importance of preserving six aspects of Indian culture—language, attire, hymns, food, travel, and architecture—to maintain national identity.

Founded in 2016, Vishwamangalya Sabha aims to equip mothers with the knowledge and values of Indian Sanatan culture so they can prepare families to meet modern challenges while upholding societal interests. The organisation currently operates in 35 provinces and has initiated a series of Matru Sanskar Samagam events in 25 provinces, with prior sessions held in Ujjain and Ayodhya.

Social Service as a Family Tradition

Speaking at the event, Geeta Dhami highlighted that social service is central to human life, and when it becomes a family tradition, its impact extends beyond the individual to society. Mridula Dharmendra Pradhan, wife of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and President of Vikas Foundation, shared experiences of family values across states, noting how cultural values helped her adjust smoothly after marriage from Himachal Pradesh to Odisha.

Organisation Expansion in Uttarakhand

It was announced that under Geeta Dhami’s leadership, Vishwamangalya Sabha will establish its operations in Uttarakhand. Dr. Anuradha Yadav outlined the working methodology, explaining that district-level teams will be formed to implement the organisation’s vision effectively across the state.
