Dehradun, Uttarakhand: In a major step toward promoting girls’ education and empowerment, the Uttarakhand government, under the Nanda Gaura Yojana Uttarakhand, has successfully transferred ₹145.93 crore directly into the accounts of 33,251 beneficiary girls via the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system. This initiative reflects the state government’s commitment to ensuring that every girl in Uttarakhand grows up educated, self-reliant, and empowered.
The scheme has been carefully designed to support girls from birth to education, providing financial assistance at critical stages of their upbringing. The funds are intended to cover educational expenses, skill development, and other needs that enable girls to pursue their dreams and contribute meaningfully to state and national development.
At the fund transfer ceremony, Cabinet Minister Rekha Arya was present to witness the handover. She emphasized the government’s dedication to girls’ welfare, stating that the Nanda Gaura Yojana is a concrete example of how policy and governance can directly impact lives. “This yojana is more than financial aid; it is an investment in the future of Uttarakhand, ensuring that daughters have the opportunity to become leaders, professionals, and contributors to society,” she said.
