Dehradun – Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Dhami announced that the state government is actively working to transform Tehri into a premier hub for water and adventure sports. The initiative aims to boost tourism while simultaneously generating new employment opportunities for local youth, positioning Tehri as a key destination on India’s adventure tourism map.
Speaking about the plans, CM Pushkar Dhami said, “Our government is continuously working to develop Tehri Water and Adventure Sports Hub. This will not only give a fresh impetus to tourism but also create employment opportunities for local youth in the region.”
The development of Tehri Water and Adventure Sports Hub will include the promotion of boating, kayaking, rafting, and other adventure activities in and around the Tehri Lake. By integrating these facilities with tourism infrastructure, the government hopes to attract both domestic and international tourists to Uttarakhand.

Pushkar Dhami emphasized that such efforts will ensure Tehri gains a stronger presence on the global tourism map. “This beautiful destination in Devbhoomi will, in the coming years, achieve a prominent identity among world tourists,” he added.
Skill Development and Employment Opportunities for Local Youth through Tehri Water and Adventure Sports Hub
The initiative also highlights the state government’s focus on creating sustainable economic opportunities. Local youth will benefit from training programs in water sports management, adventure tourism operations, and hospitality services, strengthening both skill development and employment generation.

Tourism experts note that Tehri’s natural resources, including its lake, surrounding mountains, and rivers, make it an ideal location for water and adventure sports.
