CM Pushkar Dhami Attends Pran Pratishtha Mahotsav, Launches Champawat Saras Corbett Festival-2026

Festival to Promote Winter Tourism, Adventure Activities, and Cultural Heritage in Champawat

Vikasnagar/Dehradun : Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Dhami participated in the Pran Pratishtha Mahotsav at Shri Khatu Shyam Dham in Vikasnagar, Dehradun, on Wednesday. The event coincides with ongoing construction work at Haripur Yamuna Ghat in the area.

Addressing the gathering, CM Pushkar Dhami highlighted the large turnout as a reflection of the people’s devotion. He emphasized that the state’s developmental progress is guided by the blessings of the people and under the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Uttarakhand is set to achieve new heights. “Our presence here today shows the faith and devotion of the people. All the developmental work we are doing is because of their blessings. Under PM Modi’s leadership, Uttarakhand will reach new levels of growth in this decade,” he said.

On the same day, Pushkar Dhami also virtually inaugurated the “Champawat Saras Corbett Festival-2026” from his camp office in Dehradun. He noted the vibrant and festive atmosphere prevailing across Champawat during the lead-up to the event.

Celebrating Uttarakhand’s Cultural Heritage  : Pushkar Dhami

The Chief Minister Pushkar Dhami highlighted the upcoming Holi festival, remarking on the unique cultural identity of Kali Kumaon’s Holi, which is known nationwide for its distinctive traditions. Pushkar Dhami praised the combination of Baithki Holi, Khadi Holi, Chaufulla, folk rhythms, and melodies, which make the region’s celebrations exceptional.

He described Champawat as a sacred land with a rich heritage of history, spirituality, and culture. According to Pushkar Dhami , the Champawat Saras Corbett Festival-2026 is more than a seven-day event—it is a showcase of the state’s cultural pride, natural beauty, youth enthusiasm, women’s empowerment, and the vision of a self-reliant Uttarakhand. This year, the festival is being held as a “Winter Corbett Festival”, aimed at boosting winter tourism in the state.

Promoting Adventure and Local Employment

CM Pushkar Dhami outlined the festival’s objective to establish Champawat as a hub for adventure tourism, with activities including paragliding, mountain biking, hot air ballooning, river rafting, paramotoring, bird watching, and trekking. He expressed confidence that these initiatives would provide new opportunities for youth and generate local employment, while positioning the district prominently on India’s adventure tourism map.
