Tokyo: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday participated in the Uttar Pradesh Investment Roadshow in Tokyo, promoting the state as a global destination for skilled talent and a massive consumption-driven market with nearly 250 million residents.
Addressing investors and business leaders, the CM Yogi highlighted that consistent policy reforms over the past nine years have transformed Uttar Pradesh into a leading investment hub. He emphasized that the state is not only India’s “food basket” but also possesses the largest water resources in the country.
“Uttar Pradesh is the food basket of India and home to the largest water resources. With a population of 250 million, over 56% of whom are youth and part of the workforce, skilled manpower is readily available across sectors. Today, affordable and quality labor is accessible for every industry in the state,” CM Yogi said.
Focusing on infrastructure, the CM Yogi stated that Uttar Pradesh accounts for 95% of India’s expressways and has the country’s largest rail network. He invited Japanese investors to visit the state and participate in its private industrial park initiatives.

CM Yogi also highlighted improvements in air connectivity, noting that 16 domestic and four international airports have been operationalized in the past nine years, with India’s largest international airport, Noida International Airport, nearing completion.
“There are immense investment opportunities in Uttar Pradesh. The results of the government’s policies over the last nine years are visible, and the state has become one of India’s fastest-growing economies,” he added.

The CM Yogi also touched upon the state’s cultural and spiritual heritage, noting that Uttar Pradesh is the birthplace of Lord Ram, the king of the Suryavansh dynasty, and a key site for Buddhism associated with Lord Buddha’s life.
During his official visit to Japan from February 25 to 26, CM Yogi is scheduled for key meetings to enhance bilateral cooperation and explore new industrial and investment opportunities for Uttar Pradesh.

In particular, he met with Kazuki Shimizu, Managing Officer and COO of the Infrastructure Projects Business Unit at Mitsui & Co., and senior members of the company. He invited Mitsui & Co. to explore transformative investments in Uttar Pradesh in sectors including Renewable Energy, ICT, Semiconductors, and Data Centers, aligned with the state’s industrial growth. Discussions also included collaboration in infrastructure, logistics networks, and industrial projects to strengthen Uttar Pradesh’s growth corridors and global supply chain integration.
