Under CM GRID Phase-One, Gorakhpur begins road works worth ₹44.88 crore in Shahpur, aiming for early completion by March 2026.

Under the Chief Minister Green Road Infrastructure Development (CM GRID) Phase-One program, work on three main roads has started in the Shahpur neighborhood of Raptinagar ward, Gorakhpur. The Municipal Corporation has set a goal to complete the project by March 2026, three months ahead of the initial June date. The work comes after the completion of ducts and utility relocation.

At a total cost of Rs 44.88 crore, the three highways consist of:

-A road that runs from Shahpur police station to Riddhi Hospital is 510 meters long and 24 meters wide.

-A lane that is 471 meters long and 18 meters wide that connects Brothers Bakery to Doordarshan Awas on Medical College lane

-A road that connects Rajivnagar Kuan to the Raptinagar electrical office is 1,417 meters long and 18 meters wide.

In order to increase connection inside the ward, several roads will be connected.

In addition to being strong and long-lasting, the CM GRID roadways will be vibrant, painted using a roller brush in shades of red, sky blue, and brown. The paint is easily reapplyable and comes with a one-year guarantee. This project will be tested on the Raptinagar road that is currently being built.

In order to give the infrastructure an artistic touch, paintings of notable figures and liberation fighters will also be displayed on the walls on either side of the highways.

After the ducts and utilities were finished, work got underway, according to Amit Kumar Sharma, the Municipal Corporation’s chief engineer. Our goal is to finish the project by March, which is three months earlier than expected.
