Rajasthan: Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma on Tuesday directed strict legal action against gangs involved in the drug trade and emphasized launching a special campaign to make the state drug-free. Chairing a high-level meeting of the Home Department at the Chief Minister’s residence, Sharma instructed the police and administration to enforce the toughest measures against gangsters and hardcore criminals. He also highlighted the need for special vigilance along drug supply routes and border areas to curb the spread of intoxicants.
Demolishing Organized Drug Networks
Sharma stressed that all organized gangs, from small to large networks, must be dismantled under a special action plan. He urged coordinated efforts among the police, drug controllers, the health department, and other agencies to tackle the issue. He further instructed that strict legal measures should be taken against individuals arrested in drug-related cases.

Campaign Against Cybercrime
The Chief Minister also prioritized combating cybercrime, calling for special campaigns in areas with high cybercrime activity. He emphasized that action must continue until cybercriminal networks are eradicated completely.
Regular Monitoring of Progress
Sharma noted that government initiatives over the past two years have significantly reduced crime in the state. He directed that progress against criminals be reviewed every 10 days and that responsibility be clearly assigned.
He added that crime is becoming increasingly high-tech in the digital era, and urged police to adopt modern techniques and technology-driven policing to effectively tackle criminal activities.
