CM Bhajan Lal Sharma Launches ₹152 Crore Rural Development Projects in Alwar

CM Sharma inaugurates development projects, promotes self-reliance, and strengthens farmer, youth and livestock welfare schemes in Alwar villages.

Alwar: Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma on Sunday announced a series of major initiatives aimed at strengthening rural development in Alwar. Addressing a village development camp in Restula village of the Ramgarh Assembly constituency, the Chief Minister inaugurated and laid foundation stones for development projects worth more than ₹152 crore in Alwar city and nearby areas. These projects span key sectors such as education, healthcare, power, roads, drinking water and civic infrastructure.

Focus on making villages self-reliant : Bhajan Lal Sharma

Emphasising that villages form the backbone of the nation, the Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma  said empowering rural areas is essential for overall development. He noted that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, several schemes have been implemented to promote self-reliance in villages. Initiatives like the Swachh Bharat Mission have helped eliminate open defecation, while the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana has provided permanent housing to lakhs of families. Under the Jal Jeevan Mission, households are now receiving clean drinking water through tap connections.

New law to strengthen rural employment system

CM Bhajan Lal Sharma said that the VB G Ram Ji Act will significantly enhance rural livelihoods by ensuring up to 125 days of employment annually for villagers. He explained that work under the scheme will be carried out using modern technology and a transparent system, with wages directly transferred to workers’ bank accounts. The Act aims to create durable community assets and address gaps in the existing NREGA framework, contributing to the vision of a developed India.

Over 1,800 village development camps conducted

The Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma informed that more than 1,800 village upliftment camps have been organised across Rajasthan so far. Through these camps, around 1.34 lakh soil health cards and over 65,000 land ownership cards have been distributed, while applications for nearly 37,000 Kisan Credit Cards have been received. In addition, about 6.5 lakh animals have been registered for treatment, and more than 36,000 registrations have been completed under the PM Surya Ghar Yojana.

Support for farmers, livestock owners and youth

Highlighting welfare measures for farmers, CM Sharma said that beneficiaries in Rajasthan are receiving ₹9,000 annually under the Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme. For livestock owners, the Mukhyamantri Mangala Pashu Bima Yojana has been introduced. He also underlined the government’s focus on employment generation for youth, noting that over one lakh government jobs have already been provided, while recruitment for another 1.54 lakh posts is currently underway, with more opportunities planned in the future.

Towards a developed Rajasthan

Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change Bhupender Yadav said village development camps have given fresh momentum to rural growth, particularly in sectors such as dairy, solar energy and water conservation. He thanked the Chief Minister for approving the proposed dairy project in Alwar. During the event, CM Sharma visited departmental exhibitions and distributed certificates, cheques and electric wheelchairs to eligible beneficiaries. The programme was attended by a large number of villagers, officials and public representatives.
