Awareness camps in Amritsar, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Patiala & Mohali on Nov 14 to help citizens recover unclaimed deposits via RBI Udgam Portal.

Under the direction of the Punjab State-Level Bankers’ Committee, extensive awareness camps will be held in Amritsar, Jalandhar, Hoshiarpur, Ludhiana, Patiala, and Mohali on November 14th to promote the prompt payment of unclaimed assets.

Senior district managers would coordinate with all financial institutions to organize these camps in compliance with the Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) and the Government of India’s recommendations, according to Ramkishore Meena, Deputy General Manager of Punjab National Bank.

Top executives from the mutual fund, insurance, pension, and banking sectors will attend the camps. Meena emphasized that money deposited in a bank is moved to the Reserve Bank of India after ten years if it is not claimed. The camps will offer comprehensive instructions on how to recover such undaimed insurance sums, mutual funds, and past deposits.

To guarantee that unclaimed deposits are given back to their legitimate owners, designated individuals, or heirs, these awareness camps are being held in several states.

The program is a component of the Ministry of Finance’s “Your Capital Your Right” public awareness campaign, which will run from October 1, 2025, to December 31, 2025. In the days ahead, similar awareness camps will be held in each district.
