PSEB announces Punjabi Olympiad 2025 results with over 2.25 lakh students participating worldwide. Winners praised by Punjab Education Minister Harjot Bains.
The Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) announced the results of the incredibly successful Third International Punjabi Olympiad 2025.
Niamat Kaur Brar, from Oslo, Norway, won first place in the Class 3rd–5th international category. Ahil Singh and Harseerat Kaur came next. In the Class 6th–8th international division, Simrit Kaur took first place, followed by Nairobi, Kenya trio Amrit Kaur Virdi and Navjot Singh Matharu in second and third place, respectively. Oslo’s Parmeet Singh Gurm won first place in the international Class 9–12 division.
Reenat Mahal of Amritsar won first place in the Punjab division for Classes 3rd–5th, followed by Moga’s Avneet Kaur and Faridkot’s Sangampreet Kaur. Class 6–8 was won by Karajneet Kaur of Patiala, while Jasmine Roopra of Faridkot and Anisha Kumari of Roopnagar came in second and third, respectively. Class 9th–12th place winners were Inderjeet Singh from Moga, Simranjot Kaur from Fatehgarh Sahib, and Navroop Kaur from Gurdaspur.
Parneet Kaur Ahuja from Delhi won Class 3rd–5th in the other states category, followed by Jasmeen Kaur from Uttar Pradesh and Khushnoor Kaur from Rajasthan. Haryana’s Daksha took first place in Class 6–8, while Chandigarh’s Gurnoor Singh and Navneet Uniyal came in second and third, respectively. Class 9–12 winners were Mantej Singh Virk of Chandigarh, Vanshdeep Singh of Haryana, and Ekansh Singh of Chandigarh.

Punjab Education Minister S. Harjot Singh Bains congratulated the Olympiad’s winners and participants and praised the PSEB for making the third Olympiad a major success, with participation rising from just 8000 to over 2.25 lakh children this year compared to prior Olympiads. “The Olympiad was not merely a competition but a powerful movement to instill pride, linguistic confidence and strengthen cultural identity associated with our mother tongue among students,” the Education Minister said, adding that such initiatives play a crucial role in fostering cultural pride and self-confidence in the youth. This overwhelming response reflects the public’s trust in CM Bhagwant Singh Mann led Punjab Government’s mother-tongue friendly policies.
From August 18 to October 31, 2025, a large number of people registered online for the Olympiad, which was run under Minister Bains’ direction. From Class 3 to 12, students from government, aided, private, and CBSE schools enthusiastically participated. The occasion strengthened Punjabi’s global ties by inviting students from other Indian states as well as international non-resident students to participate.
In the meantime, Dr. Amarpal Singh, the chairman of PSEB, emphasized the Olympiad’s open procedure, which used facial recognition technology in three online phases. Out of the 2,25,276 students that registered, 20,327 advanced to the second round, 4,009 advanced to the finals, and 3,748 took the written test on December 23, 2025.
The first prize winner will earn Rs. 11,000, the second prize winner will receive Rs. 7,100, and the next eight rank holders will receive Rs. 5,100 apiece, for a total prize value of Rs. 3,30,000, according to Dr. Amarpal Singh. The schools with the most involvement and registrations will also receive recognition.
In line with the goal of the government of Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann to reunite younger generations with their linguistic and cultural heritage, he reiterated that the Punjab School Education Board will carry out such student-centered and public-welfare initiatives on an even greater scale in the future.
