The inauguration ceremony began with the ribbon-cutting by the Minister, followed by a traditional lamp-lighting ritual symbolising prosperity and new beginnings. The event was attended by prominent industry leaders, including ITC Hotels Limited Managing Director Anil Chadha, Gujral Group Managing Director Bhupinder Singh Gujral, Gaganjeet Singh Gujral, senior officials, and other distinguished guests.
Speaking at the event, Sanjeev Arora welcomed Welcomhotel’s entry into Mohali’s growing skyline and highlighted the city’s rapid transformation into one of North India’s fastest-expanding economic and institutional centres. He pointed out that the expansion of IT City, Aerocity, leading healthcare facilities, universities, and convention infrastructure has significantly increased both domestic and international visitor inflow.
The Minister noted that this growth has created a strong demand for additional high-quality hotel accommodations to serve business delegations, global investors, tourists, and large-scale events hosted in the region.
