Punjab Vigilance Bureau Arrests Three DIC Officials in Ludhiana for ₹30,000 Bribery Case

The Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB), as part of its ongoing anti-corruption campaign across the state, has arrested three officials posted at the District Industries Centre (DIC) office in Ludhiana for allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹30,000. The accused have been identified as Jaspal Singh and Rishav Garg, both serving as Senior Industrial Promotional Officers, and Antarpreet Singh, posted as a Trade Assistant at the same office.

According to an official spokesperson of the Punjab Vigilance Bureau, the arrests were made following a complaint filed by a resident of Focal Point, Ludhiana. The complainant, who operates a production unit in the area, had applied for an exact date of production certificate.

Complainant Records Bribe Demand, Approaches Punjab Vigilance Bureau

During the process, the accused officials allegedly demanded a bribe of ₹45,000 to process the certificate. The complainant reportedly recorded the conversation in which the illegal gratification was sought and subsequently approached the Punjab Vigilance Bureau.

After conducting a preliminary inquiry, the VB team laid a trap. The three accused were caught red-handed while accepting ₹30,000 from the complainant in the presence of two official witnesses.

A case has been registered against the accused under the Prevention of Corruption Act at the Punjab Vigilance Bureau police station in Ludhiana. Further investigation into the matter is currently underway.
