Chandigarh – In a significant move to enhance access to higher education for Scheduled Caste students, the Punjab Government under Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has released ₹245 crore under the Punjab Post-Matric Scholarship scheme for the financial year 2025–26.

Social Security, Women and Child Development Minister Dr. Baljit Kaur stated that data of over 2.45 lakh eligible students has been received under the scheme, who will directly benefit from this financial assistance. “The Punjab Post-Matric Scholarship is providing crucial support to students from economically weaker sections and has significantly reduced the financial burden on thousands of families,” she said.

Dr. Kaur emphasized that the Punjab Post-Matric Scholarship ensures that no deserving student is deprived of higher education due to financial constraints. “This initiative is emerging as a ray of hope for thousands of students, enabling them to pursue education and build a brighter future,” she added.
