Chandigarh: Punjab Police, under the directions of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, continued its ‘Gangstran Te Vaar’ campaign to make the state gangster-free, entering its 15th day on Tuesday with 666 raids conducted at locations linked to gangster associates across Punjab.
Launched on January 20, 2026, by DGP Gaurav Yadav, the campaign involves coordinated operations by district police teams alongside the Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) Punjab.
On Day 15, Punjab Police arrested 163 individuals and recovered two weapons, taking total arrests to 4,396 since the campaign began. Preventive measures were taken against 141 persons, while 255 individuals were verified and released. Additionally, four proclaimed offenders (POs) were apprehended.

In a parallel initiative, the ‘Yudh Nashian Virudh’ anti-drug drive continued for the 339th consecutive day, with 143 drug smugglers arrested and recoveries including 12.2 kg heroin, 12 kg Ganja, and 2,412 intoxicant tablets/capsules. The total number of drug smugglers arrested under the campaign has now reached 47,435 in 339 days.
As part of the de-addiction efforts, 40 individuals were convinced to undergo treatment and rehabilitation .
