The announcement was made as part of the Punjab government’s budget, with ₹9,300 crore allocated for the implementation of the scheme.

Under the Mukh Mantri Mawaan Dhian Satkar Yojna, women in Punjab will receive ₹1,000 per month as financial support, while women belonging to Scheduled Caste communities will receive ₹1,500 every month. The initiative is being seen as a major step towards strengthening women’s financial independence and improving household stability.

Speaking to the media, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said the launch of the Mukh Mantri Mawaan Dhian Satkar Yojna fulfils one of the biggest electoral promises made by the Aam Aadmi Party government. He described the state budget as a “Saari Guarantiyan Puri” budget, highlighting the government’s commitment to delivering on its promises while expanding welfare programmes for the people of Punjab.

Congratulating the mothers, daughters and sisters of the state, Mann said the government has placed special emphasis on women’s empowerment in the budget. According to him, the Mukh Mantri Mawaan Dhian Satkar Yojna will help women become more financially secure and independent, enabling them to contribute more actively to the welfare of their families and society.

The Chief Minister further announced that the registration process for the scheme will begin from the upcoming Baisakhi. Special camps will be organised across Punjab to ensure that eligible women can easily register and avail themselves of the benefits of the Mukh Mantri Mawaan Dhian Satkar Yojna. Every woman above the age of 18 years will be eligible for financial assistance under the scheme.

Describing the state budget as a milestone document, Mann said it reflects the government’s commitment to the welfare and progress of the people. He also congratulated Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema for presenting a budget that focuses on development and social welfare.
