Chandigarh : In a major push to transform the education sector, the Punjab government led by Bhagwant Singh Mann has launched Siksha Kranti 2.0, a large-scale reform initiative with an investment of ₹3,500 crore over the next six years. The programme aims to strengthen government schools and align Punjab’s education system with global standards.

As part of Siksha Kranti 2.0, the state government has partnered with the World Bank, highlighting global recognition of Punjab’s progress in education reforms.

₹3,500 Crore Investment for Education Transformation

The Siksha Kranti 2.0 mission includes ₹2,500 crore through World Bank assistance and ₹1,000 crore from the Punjab government. This marks one of the biggest education reform investments in the state’s history.

The initiative builds upon the success of the earlier phase, which significantly improved infrastructure, teaching quality, and governance across nearly 20,000 government schools.

Punjab Tops National Rankings

Punjab has already emerged as a leader in education. In the PARAKH Rashtriya Sarvekshan 2024, the state ranked number one in classroom learning outcomes, surpassing Kerala.

  • Launching a Career Guidance Portal for personalised counselling
