Punjab Government Inaugurates New Sports Park and Facilities

In a proud moment for Ludhiana, the city welcomed three new development projects that promise to uplift lives, empower the youth, and ease daily commutes for thousands. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann inaugurated a state-of-the-art sports park, a much-needed high-level bridge, and a modern auditorium at Ambedkar Bhawan, collectively worth over ₹13 crore.

These projects are more than just concrete and construction—they reflect a deeper commitment to progress, inclusion, and grassroots development.

A New Playground for Dreams: The Sports Park

Costing around ₹26 lakh, the newly developed sports park aims to be a vibrant hub for Ludhiana’s youth. More than a recreational space, it’s a playground where aspirations will take shape.

Designed to encourage young people to embrace sports and fitness, the park is a timely response to growing concerns about sedentary lifestyles and screen addiction. With open green spaces, play zones, and basic sports infrastructure, the park is set to become a go-to place for local children and teens.

“Our goal is to nurture future champions while making health and fitness a part of everyday life,” said the Chief Minister during the inauguration.

Easing the Commute: High-Level Bridge Brings Relief

The second project, a high-level bridge built at a cost of ₹8.16 crore, is a significant step toward tackling Ludhiana’s chronic traffic congestion.

For years, residents have battled jam-packed roads, especially during peak hours. This new bridge is not just an infrastructure upgrade—it’s a daily convenience, a sigh of relief for office-goers, students, and transporters alike.

“This bridge is going to save countless hours for people who’ve been stuck in traffic for too long. It’s a game changer for urban mobility in Ludhiana,” shared a local shopkeeper who commutes daily across the area.

Ambedkar Bhawan’s Cultural Heart: A New Auditorium

At ₹4.30 crore, the third project is a beautiful addition to the city’s cultural landscape. The newly-built auditorium at Ambedkar Bhawan promises to be a cradle of creativity and expression.

Designed as a multi-use venue, it will host competitions for children, talent shows, community gatherings, and cultural programs. It’s not just a building—it’s a stage for Ludhiana’s voices, stories, and future leaders.

“We finally have a space where our children can perform, showcase their talents, and feel proud of their roots,” said a local teacher attending the event.

Public Money for Public Good

Speaking at the event, CM Bhagwant Mann emphasized transparency and citizen-centered development.

“The government’s duty is to provide the best facilities to the people of the state. We are fulfilling this responsibility with complete dedication and honesty. We are using public money in the name of the people, working for the progress and prosperity of Punjab.”

In other words, this is a government investing not in showpieces, but in substance—projects that touch lives, support communities, and pave the way for a more connected, healthier, and culturally vibrant Ludhiana.

Looking Ahead

These developments mark a hopeful chapter for the city—a reminder that real change starts with thoughtful action. As Ludhiana continues to grow, such community-first initiatives signal that the government is not only listening to its people but acting on their needs.

Whether it’s a child playing in the park, a commuter crossing the bridge stress-free, or a young performer shining on stage—each is a symbol of a city moving forward with purpose.
