Ajnala (Punjab): The Punjab government has intensified its Punjab flood prevention preparations ahead of the upcoming monsoon season, with senior cabinet ministers and Aam Aadmi Party leaders conducting on-ground inspections in vulnerable areas. In a recent visit, Cabinet Minister Barinder Kumar Goyal, along with MLA and AAP Chief Spokesperson Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal, reached ChaharPur village in the Ajnala constituency to review ongoing development and safety works.
During the visit, the leaders interacted with officials from the Water Resources and Mining Department and assessed the progress of key flood mitigation projects. The inspection was aimed at strengthening the state’s Punjab flood prevention preparations, ensuring that vulnerable rural belts are adequately protected from potential waterlogging and flood-related risks.

Officials briefed the ministers on drainage improvement work, embankment strengthening, and desilting operations being carried out in the region. MLA Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal highlighted the need for better coordination between departments to strengthen Punjab flood prevention preparations in rural and low-lying areas of Ajnala.
