Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann Accuses Partap Singh Bajwa of Spreading Bomb Hoax for Political Gain
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has sharply criticized Leader of Opposition Partap Singh Bajwa for allegedly spreading a baseless claim about the presence of 50 bombs smuggled into the state. Mann accused Bajwa of attempting to create fear among the public for political advantage.
Addressing a gathering in Chaajli, Sangrur, on April 15, CM Mann questioned why Bajwa had not disclosed the locations of these alleged bombs if he possessed credible information. He suggested that Bajwa might be waiting for an incident to occur to exploit the situation politically. Mann emphasized that such unfounded claims were intended to mislead the people of Punjab.
In response to the allegations, the Punjab government has initiated a case against Bajwa for allegedly spreading misinformation. Mann remarked that instead of addressing the issue, Bajwa was seeking legal refuge to protect himself. He urged opposition leaders to engage in constructive politics rather than resorting to tactics that undermine public trust.
The Chief Minister also took aim at traditional political parties, accusing them of being envious of his administration’s effectiveness. He claimed that these parties had failed to serve the people of Punjab and were now resorting to desperate measures to regain influence.
Mann further criticized former leaders for amassing wealth during their tenure and remaining disconnected from the public. He lamented that the state’s development had suffered due to the negligence of previous administrations.
Turning his attention to Sukhbir Singh Badal, President of the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD), Mann labeled him a “rejected leader” who was paying for his past misdeeds. He accused Badal of deceiving the masses during his time in power and being ultimately rejected by the people.
Mann also described the Congress party as a “divided house,” with leaders focused on self-preservation rather than addressing the needs of the public. He criticized them for their internal conflicts and inability to present a united front.
