In a significant breakthrough in the ongoing campaign to make Punjab a safe and secure state under the directions of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, Counter Intelligence (CI) Jalandhar has dismantled a terror-linked module backed by Babbar Khalsa International (BKI). Two key operatives involved in firing incidents related to extortion have been arrested, Punjab Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav said on Tuesday.
The accused have been identified as Sukhwinder Singh alias Sunny and Rawal, both residents of village Kulam in SBS Nagar district. According to the DGP, preliminary investigations indicate that the duo was operating under the instructions of foreign-based handlers—Gopi Nawashehria, Jassi Kulam, and Sushant Chopra—who are linked to BKI.
