Punjab celebrates 77th Republic Day 2026 across districts with flag hoisting, parades, cultural performances, and welfare initiatives.
Punjab: The 77th Republic Day was celebrated across Punjab with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervor today. On this occasion, the Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha, along with the Cabinet Ministers of the Punjab Government, unfurled the National Tricolour at various district headquarters, inspected parades, took salute from marching contingents, and addressed large gatherings of citizens.
During their addresses, the Speaker, Deputy Speaker, and Cabinet Ministers highlighted the welfare-oriented initiatives of the Punjab Government under Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann. They emphasized that the government is following the principles of Shaheed Bhagat Singh and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, working tirelessly for the betterment of the state and the welfare of its people.
The officials also spoke about key achievements, including Punjab becoming the first state in India to implement the Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojana, which provides health insurance coverage of ₹10 lakh to every resident. Other initiatives highlighted included free electricity, free bus services for women, campaigns against drugs and gangsters, and welfare schemes for marginalized sections of society.
