Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Tuesday urged the people of the state not to fall for misleading and false propaganda being spread by anti-Punjab forces regarding the Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojna, the state government’s flagship healthcare initiative.
In a video message, CM Bhagwant Mann said the scheme was launched to provide direct access to quality medical treatment for all residents of Punjab, especially those from weaker sections of society. He explained that under this first-of-its-kind scheme in India, every family in Punjab is entitled to cashless medical treatment up to ₹10 lakh.
Calling it a landmark achievement, Bhagwant Mann highlighted that Punjab is now the first state in the country to offer such extensive healthcare coverage, which will reduce the financial burden on families while ensuring access to quality healthcare services.

However, Bhagwant Mann warned against misinformation, saying that some anti-Punjab groups are spreading falsehoods to discourage people from availing the scheme.
He clarified the hospital empanelment and payment process, stating that the government has empanelled most private hospitals under the scheme with fixed rates for around 2,600 treatments and ailments. Hospitals will be paid directly by the government, and patients will not be charged any fees, regardless of the hospital’s normal charges.

CM Bhagwant Mann emphasised accountability, insisting that hospitals are obligated to provide free treatment to beneficiaries. He warned that any hospital demanding money should be reported immediately, and the government will take strict, punitive action against offenders.
Reiterating the core promise, the Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann assured that treatment under the Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojna is entirely free of cost. He urged the people of Punjab to remain alert against forces spreading baseless rumors and to take full advantage of the scheme, which has already received global recognition.
