Chandigarh: Punjab’s Minister for Social Security, Women and Child Development, Dr. Baljit Kaur, on Monday handed over appointment letters to eight newly recruited clerks selected through a fully transparent and merit-based recruitment process in the Department of Social Security, Women and Child Development. The letters were distributed at her office in the Punjab Civil Secretariat.
Congratulating the newly appointed employees, the Minister Baljit Kaur urged them to perform their duties with honesty, dedication, and a strong sense of responsibility in the larger public interest. She emphasized that the department plays a crucial role in delivering essential services related to senior citizens, women, and children, making the contribution of every employee highly significant.
Dr. Baljit Kaur highlighted that sincere and committed efforts from staff members are vital for the effective implementation of government welfare schemes at the grassroots level. She reiterated that all recruitments under the Punjab Government are being conducted in a completely transparent and merit-based manner.

Baljit Kaur Highlights 64,000 Government Jobs for Youth
The Minister Baljit Kaur further stated that generating employment opportunities for youth and promoting self-reliance remains a top priority of the government. She informed that nearly 64,000 young individuals have been provided government jobs so far, marking a significant milestone in strengthening youth employment across the state.
Describing employees as the backbone of any department, Dr. Baljit Kaur said that responsible and dedicated service ensures the smooth execution of government policies and welfare initiatives. She added that the performance of government staff directly contributes to the overall development of Punjab.
She also reaffirmed that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the state government is committed to creating maximum employment opportunities through transparent, citizen-centric, and youth-focused policies. These initiatives, she said, are not only providing economic stability to families but also enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of government departments.
Deputy Director of the Department of Social Security, Women and Child Development, Amarjit Singh Bhullar, was also present at the event.
