The Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has taken a major step to strengthen Punjab border security by expanding high-tech surveillance across sensitive border regions. The initiative focuses on using advanced monitoring systems to curb illegal activities and improve real-time intelligence.

As part of this move, 2,291 CCTV cameras have been installed at 585 strategic locations along the border belt. These cameras form a strong surveillance network that acts as a second line of defence to monitor and detect suspicious movements. The upgraded system significantly enhances Punjab border security by enabling continuous tracking of activities in vulnerable areas.

Officials have also connected 41 police stations to a centralized monitoring system, allowing live surveillance and faster response times. This integration helps authorities take immediate action against crimes such as arms smuggling, drug trafficking, and organized criminal networks. With this digital upgrade, Punjab border security is becoming more efficient and responsive.

Along with CCTV coverage, the state has also strengthened anti-drone surveillance measures to prevent cross-border smuggling attempts. Village-level coordination has been included to improve local participation in safeguarding sensitive zones. These combined efforts further reinforce Punjab border security through technology-driven and community-supported policing.

By integrating surveillance systems, police networks, and ground intelligence, Punjab is building a proactive and strong security framework. This approach marks a significant improvement in Punjab border security, focusing on prevention rather than reaction.

Overall, the initiative reflects a major upgrade in the state’s safety infrastructure, aiming to ensure better control, faster response, and stronger protection along the borders of Punjab.
