Mann Government Deploys Ministers to Border Towns Amid Rising India-Pakistan Tensions

Punjab CM directs cabinet to lead relief, reassure residents; vows full state support for border communities

As tensions escalate along the India–Pakistan border, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has taken decisive action to support residents in sensitive areas. In a rare and urgent move, the Chief Minister has directed all Ministers of his Cabinet to camp in border towns, ensuring continuous relief operations and public reassurance.

During a specially convened Cabinet meeting, CM Mann issued clear orders: Ministers representing border constituencies must remain stationed in their towns full-time, while others will rotate through these areas to monitor the ground situation, interact with residents, and guarantee that no community is left unsupported.

“In this hour of crisis, our people must not feel abandoned. Every minister will be on the ground — from ration depots to hospitals — ensuring help reaches everyone in need,” said CM Bhagwant Mann.

Ministers to Lead From the Front

According to official sources, ministers will now oversee key civic locations such as fire stations, hospitals, and ration depots, coordinating with local officials and ensuring critical services remain uninterrupted.

They will also visit border villages, listen to citizen grievances firsthand, and ensure their concerns are immediately addressed. Relief and rescue operations will be supervised directly by these cabinet members, demonstrating the state’s strong commitment to its border population.

“You Are Not Alone” — Mann’s Message to Border Residents

Striking a deeply emotional tone, CM Mann expressed his solidarity with residents of Punjab’s border belt, who, he noted, have historically shown great patriotism and resilience despite constant threats and underdevelopment.

“This region has lagged in infrastructure due to the looming threat of conflict, yet its people have given so much to our country. They deserve not just gratitude — but action,” the Chief Minister said.

No Panic, No Shortage: Government in Control

CM Mann also addressed the public’s growing anxiety, urging calm and clarifying that there is no shortage of essential commodities in the state. He issued strict warnings against hoarding or creating artificial scarcity, promising legal action against offenders.

To further strengthen the government’s presence, senior officers of Secretary rank will also be deployed alongside ministers, forming an on-ground leadership team focused on citizen safety, support, and swift crisis management.

A Government Standing Shoulder-to-Shoulder With Its People

In the face of uncertainty, the Punjab government’s hands-on approach is a powerful message: the state stands with its people, not just in words, but in physical presence, action, and accountability.

“The residents of our border areas are true patriots. This government will protect their interests at any cost,” CM Mann concluded
