Amritsar: Punjab Cabinet Minister Harjot Singh Bains conducted a late-night inspection of the newly launched Amritsar Night Sweeping Drive, a special cleanliness initiative aimed at ensuring that Sri Amritsar Sahib remains clean and well-maintained throughout the night.
Sharing details of the campaign, Harjot Singh Bains said that Sri Amritsar Sahib is not merely a city but a sacred trust that holds immense religious and cultural significance for millions of devotees across the world. Keeping this in mind, the Punjab Government has introduced the Amritsar Night Sweeping Drive to strengthen sanitation services beyond regular daytime operations.
Teams Deployed from 10 PM to 2 AM
Under the initiative, sanitation teams are working every night between 10 PM and 2 AM to clean roads, markets, public spaces, and other key areas of the city. During his inspection, Harjot Singh Bains reviewed the work being carried out on the ground and appreciated the efforts of sanitation workers dedicated to keeping the city clean.
He stated that the Amritsar Night Sweeping Drive marks a significant step forward in urban cleanliness management, ensuring that waste generated during busy daytime and evening hours is removed promptly.
