Harjot Singh Bains Announces New School Building for Basti Hazur Within 6 Months

Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains Assures Personal Monitoring as Fazilka School Set for Complete Reconstruction

Fazilka: Punjab Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains has ordered the complete reconstruction of Government Primary School in Basti Hazur village of Fazilka district after serious concerns were raised about the deteriorating condition of the school building.

Taking prompt action, the Minister Harjot Singh Bains directed the School Education Department to initiate immediate remedial measures and ensure that work on the new building begins without delay. He assured residents that the reconstruction would be completed within six months and stated that he would personally monitor the progress of the project.

Speaking on the matter, Harjot Singh Bains said the poor state of the school was brought to his attention recently. “I have instructed officials to take swift action and will personally visit the school. The people of Basti Hazur can be assured that a new school building will be ready within six months. This is not a political promise, but my personal commitment,” he stated.

Harjot Singh Bains Says Hundreds of Punjab Govt Schools Upgraded Despite Past Neglect

Highlighting the broader challenges faced by the state’s education infrastructure, the Minister noted that Punjab has nearly 20,000 government schools, many of which were left in poor condition due to years of neglect. He said that since the formation of the current government under Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, hundreds of schools have already been upgraded and transformed.

Harjot Singh Bains emphasized that the government is working systematically to improve school infrastructure across the state. “Revamping all 20,000 schools is a long-term mission. We are moving ahead with dedication, transparency, and a clear roadmap to strengthen the education system,” he said.

Reaffirming his dedication to education reforms, the Minister added that the focus remains on accountability and consistent action rather than making grand claims. “For me, education is not about politics; it is a matter of responsibility and passion,” he remarked.
