Harjot Bains Leads ‘Teacher Fest 2025-26’ as 8,000 Educators Unite to Transform Punjab Schools

Mega event at Fatehgarh Sahib showcases innovative teaching methods, tech integration and creative excellence

In a major initiative aimed at reshaping the state’s education framework, the Punjab School Education Department organized a two-day “Teacher Fest 2025–26” at Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Engineering College in Fatehgarh Sahib. The large-scale event brought together more than 8,000 teachers with the objective of turning government schools into dynamic centers of creativity, innovation, and technological advancement.

Describing the Teacher Fest as a reflection of the progressive mindset of Punjab’s educators, Education Minister S. Harjot Singh Bains said the initiative was designed to move beyond conventional classroom practices and create a vibrant platform where traditional teaching methods merge with modern technology. He emphasized that empowering teachers with innovative tools and ideas is a direct investment in the future of Punjab’s children. The enthusiasm and originality displayed at the event, he added, demonstrate that the state’s education system is ready for a new phase of excellence.

Harjot Bains Says Teachers Are Nation Builders, Lead Innovation Across 10 Categories at Mega Teacher Fest

Calling teachers the foundation of the nation’s future, Harjot Singh Bains highlighted that the Teacher Fest brought together subject educators from all districts, who showcased their creativity across ten distinct categories. Participants presented innovative learning apps and IT-based tools, performed one-act plays, demonstrated advanced micro-teaching techniques, and displayed specialized teaching kits. The event also featured activities such as puzzles and quizzes, handwriting and calligraphy showcases, handmade educational models, flashcards, manual and video-based learning games, and practical demonstrations of subject knowledge.

The competition followed a structured selection process. More than 8,000 teachers first competed at the block level, with the top two from each block advancing to the district round. From there, 270 finalists in each category qualified for the state-level finale held in Fatehgarh Sahib. Winners were awarded certificates, trophies, and special compendiums in recognition of their innovative contributions and commitment to educational excellence.

The event also saw active participation from students of Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Engineering College, Sri Guru Granth Sahib University, and nearby schools, creating a collaborative learning atmosphere. Director SCERT Ms. Kiran Sharma and several senior officials attended the Teacher Fest , which concluded on an inspiring note, motivating educators to continue striving for excellence in Punjab’s education sector.
