The Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has taken a significant step to boost employment and skill development in the state. Under this initiative, an agreement has been signed with the Footwear Design and Development Institute to strengthen manufacturing and training opportunities across Punjab. The announcement was shared by Punjab Cabinet Minister Aman Arora, who highlighted that the initiative will support youth employment and industrial growth in the state.

Under the Punjab employment and skill development drive, support will be provided for the manufacturing of sports goods, boots, and leather products. The collaboration is expected to create new opportunities for skilled workers and entrepreneurs in these sectors.
Officials said the Punjab employment and skill development drive is designed to align education and training with industry requirements, ensuring better job readiness among youth.

Sports Goods Testing Lab to Be Set Up in Jalandhar
As part of the initiative, a sports goods testing and development laboratory will be established in Jalandhar. This facility is expected to enhance product quality, innovation, and global competitiveness of Punjab’s sports goods industry.
