Jalandhar : In a major step to strengthen the ongoing anti-drug drive ‘Yudh Nashian Virudh’, launched under the guidance of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, Director General of Police (DGP) Punjab Gaurav Yadav inaugurated the newly constructed Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) Jalandhar Range building at Police Lines, Jalandhar, on Thursday. He was joined by Special DGP ANTF Kuldeep Singh, ADGP ANTF Nilabh Kishore, and ADGP State Armed Police Punjab MF Farooqui.
Built at a cost of ₹1.60 crore and covering around 9,000 square feet, the state-of-the-art facility is designed to improve operational efficiency and accommodate the range’s expanded capabilities to fight drug trafficking. The building includes dedicated offices for gazetted officers, cabins for investigating officers and support staff, a reader’s room, and a modern conference hall.
DGP Gaurav Yadav highlighted that the facility is equipped with cutting-edge tools to target major drug traffickers and disrupt international narcotics networks operating in Punjab. The specialized unit features mobile and computer forensic tools, advanced data analysis systems, forensic data extraction, decryption capabilities, technical interception, and cryptocurrency tracking equipment.

“Recognizing the need for technological upgradation in drug enforcement, we have not only provided the infrastructure but also deployed a team of skilled technical staff trained to operate this advanced equipment,” the DGP said. He added that the ANTF has further enhanced its capabilities with Punjab Artificial Intelligence System (PAIS 2.0), now supporting voice analysis with a database of over 70,000 criminal voices, along with other state-of-the-art features.

Sharing the results of the ‘Yudh Nashian Virudh’ campaign, DGP Gaurav Yadav said that since March 1, 2025, Punjab Police has registered 35,133 FIRs, arrested 50,238 drug smugglers, and recovered:
- 2,229 kg heroin
- 667 kg opium
- 28 tons poppy husk
- 68 kg charas
- 783 kg ganja
- 29 kg ICE
- 4 kg cocaine
- 48.64 lakh intoxicant pills/tablets
- ₹16.68 crore in drug money
DGP Gaurav Yadav Calls Campaign a Success, Urges Citizens to Report Drug Crimes via Safe Punjab Chatbot
The DGP Gaurav Yadav termed the campaign a huge success and confirmed that it will continue until drugs are eradicated from the state. Citizens are encouraged to report drug-related information confidentially via the Safe Punjab Chatbot at 97791-00200.
Also present during the inauguration were Commissioner of Police Jalandhar Dhanpreet Kaur, DIG Jalandhar Range Naveen Singla, DIG ANTF Sanjeev Kumar Rampal, DIG ANTF Akhil Chaudhary, and AIG ANTF Ashwini Gotyal.
