Punjab : Chief Electoral Officer Anindita Mitra chaired a video conference with all District Election Officers-cum-Deputy Commissioners to assess the progress of work related to the revision and maintenance of electoral rolls across the state.
During the review meeting, the CEO Anindita Mitra evaluated voter mapping exercises and examined district-wise performance to ensure comprehensive coverage, accuracy, and timely updating of voter records.
The status of receipt and disposal of various electoral forms was also discussed, with particular focus on cases involving unclear photographs and incorrect or meaningless entries. District officials were instructed to resolve such matters promptly and strictly in line with established guidelines.

CEO Anindita Mitra reviews ERO Net pendency, calls for clean voter rolls
Applications pending on the ERO Net portal were reviewed in detail, and the CEO Anindita Mitra underlined the importance of regular monitoring and speedy disposal of cases to uphold the credibility and cleanliness of electoral rolls.
CEO Anindita Mitra also highlighted the need to increase public awareness about the “Book a Call” facility available on ECI Net, which enables Booth Level Officers to provide call-back support to voters for transparent and time-bound grievance resolution. Additionally, issues related to Demographically Similar Entries were examined, and districts were directed to carry out careful verification to avoid duplication and ensure the uniqueness of voter data.
