CHANDIGARH – In a major boost to Punjab’s agro-industrial sector, Cabinet Minister Sanjeev Arora inaugurated the newly established Cargill dairy feed plant Punjab at the Industrial Park in Wazirabad, Mandi Gobindgarh. The state-of-the-art facility, set up with an investment of ₹300 crore, marks a significant milestone in the state’s industrial growth.
Minister Arora highlighted that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal, Punjab is witnessing substantial industrial investments through the Invest Punjab initiative, generating employment opportunities and accelerating economic development.
Largest Dairy Feed Plant in South Asia
Spread across 15 acres, the Cargill dairy feed plant Punjab has an annual production capacity of 4.5 lakh metric tonnes, making it the largest dairy feed plant in South Asia. The new facility, Cargill’s second major unit in Punjab after Bathinda, strengthens the state’s agro-industrial value chain and ensures local availability of high-quality cattle feed for farmers.

Minister Arora said, “The Cargill dairy feed plant Punjab will greatly benefit dairy farmers by improving milk yield, quality, and farmers’ income. The scientifically developed feed will enhance animal health and productivity, helping Punjab’s dairy sector scale new heights.”
Driving Employment and Industrial Confidence
The plant is expected to generate nearly 1,000 jobs for local youth, according to local MLA Lakhbir Singh Rai. Minister Arora added that the establishment of the Cargill dairy feed plant Punjab reflects growing investor confidence and demonstrates that Punjab is becoming a preferred destination for agro-industrial investments.
He also mentioned that the upcoming Progressive Punjab Investors’ Summit 2026, scheduled for March 13–15 in Mohali, will attract national and international investors and further position Punjab among India’s top industrial states.
