CM Bhagwant Singh Mann Secures Hinduja Group Investment, Boosting Punjab’s Industrial Growth

Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann meets Hinduja Group to boost investments, job creation, and Punjab’s industrial development.

Chandigarh: Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has given a fresh boost to Punjab’s efforts to become a global investment hub, as the Hinduja Group, one of the world’s leading diversified conglomerates, expressed strong interest in investing in the state following detailed discussions with him. This development is expected to accelerate industrial growth and job creation, particularly for Punjab’s youth.

During the interaction, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann presented Punjab as a stable, business-friendly, and future-ready state, highlighting major policy reforms, robust infrastructure, and growing investor confidence. He noted that since March 2022, Punjab has received investment proposals worth ₹1.5 lakh crore, potentially generating over 5.3 lakh employment opportunities across multiple sectors.

The Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann emphasized that Punjab offers immense opportunities in electric vehicles, digital and financial services, cyber security, renewable energy, healthcare, sustainability, real estate, and industrial collaboration. He pointed to the state’s surplus power, excellent connectivity by road, rail, and air, skilled workforce, and strong ease-of-doing-business framework as factors making it an attractive destination for investors.

CM Bhagwant Singh Mann Highlights Punjab’s Industrial Growth and Ease of Doing Business Reforms

CM Bhagwant Singh Mann highlighted that while Punjab has historically been India’s food basket, its industrial landscape has diversified dynamically. The state now leads in food processing, textiles, auto components, bicycles, hand tools, IT, and tourism. Global companies such as Nestlé, Cargill, Danone, Claas, Verbio, and Freudenberg already operate in Punjab, demonstrating international confidence in its governance and policies.

Bhagwant Singh Mann also underlined reforms, noting that Punjab ranks among the top achievers in Ease of Doing Business and has launched the Fast Track Punjab Portal, offering single-window, time-bound approvals with zero offline processes. Under the Punjab Right to Business Act, eligible units receive in-principle approvals within five days, along with deemed approvals and simplified regulatory procedures.

CM Bhagwant Singh Mann also inaugurated a two-day Mumbai Investment Roadshow ahead of the Progressive Punjab Investors’ Summit 2026, scheduled from March 13–15 in Mohali, which included high-level meetings with corporate groups such as Hindustan Unilever, Cargill, Motilal Oswal, HPCL, Waaree Group, and the Hinduja Group.

Inviting industry leaders to the summit, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said it would serve as a platform to showcase Punjab’s industrial growth story, strengthen partnerships, and position the state as a major global investment destination.
