Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, has raised serious concerns over what he described as a “murder of democracy” in the country, highlighting the ongoing political tensions linked to Operation Lotus .
Speaking in Delhi before the Hon’ble President, Mann alleged that unconstitutional methods are being used to break elected political parties. He further accused central investigative agencies like the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) of being misused to target opposition leaders, calling it a “washing machine” used to clean tainted politicians. According to him, these actions represent a direct attack on India’s democratic framework, with Operation Lotus at the centre of such strategies.
