Bhagwant Mann chaired a high-level review meeting via video conferencing from Bathinda’s Lake View Guest House with all Deputy Commissioners (DCs) and Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs) across the state, reinforcing the government’s intensified drive under the Punjab War on Drugs campaign.

Strong Push Under Punjab War on Drugs Campaign

The meeting focused on accelerating ground-level enforcement actions against drug trafficking networks and ensuring strict implementation of the state’s “Zero Tolerance” policy towards narcotics. Officials were directed to further strengthen coordinated operations and adopt a more aggressive approach to dismantle drug supply chains operating within the state.

Zero Tolerance Policy Strengthened Across Punjab

During the review, the Chief Minister emphasized that the Punjab War on Drugs campaign remains one of the top governance priorities. He instructed district-level officers to ensure continuous action against drug smugglers, peddlers, and organized networks involved in the illegal narcotics trade. The administration was also asked to improve intelligence sharing and field-level monitoring to make enforcement more effective.

Officials were further told that the Punjab War on Drugs campaign must reflect visible results on the ground, with reduced drug availability, increased arrests of key traffickers, and disruption of supply routes. Special emphasis was placed on maintaining accountability at every administrative level so that enforcement remains consistent and transparent.

The Chief Minister also highlighted that a drug-free Punjab is essential for long-term social stability and economic progress. Under the Punjab War on Drugs campaign, community awareness initiatives and rehabilitation support systems are also being strengthened alongside enforcement measures.
