Baltej Pannu Highlights Progress in War Against Drugs Punjab Campaign

Baltej Pannu stated that under War Against Drugs Punjab, the government remains committed to strict action against drug offenders and strengthening enforcement to make Punjab drug-free.

Chandigarh, Punjab:  The Punjab government’s ongoing War Against Drugs Punjab campaign continues to intensify across the state with large-scale enforcement actions and continuous crackdowns on drug networks. According to Aam Aadmi Party Punjab General Secretary and Media In-charge Baltej Pannu, the campaign has now completed 417 days of sustained action against drug trafficking.

Under the War Against Drugs Punjab initiative, authorities have arrested over 60,000 drug peddlers so far. On the 417th day of the campaign alone, 98 drug traffickers were arrested along with the recovery of 1.1 kilograms of heroin, marking another significant success in the state’s anti-drug drive.

War Against Drugs Punjab: Strong Public Support Boosts Helpline-Based Action Against Drug Networks

Pannu stated that the War Against Drugs Punjab has received strong public support, with citizens actively cooperating through the dedicated helpline 93946-93946, which is helping authorities identify and act against drug-related activities.

Alongside this, the “Strike on Gangsters” campaign is also being carried out aggressively in Punjab. On the 92nd day of this parallel operation, 254 arrests were made, including the recovery of four weapons. With these latest actions, the total number of arrests under this drive has reached 23,140.

Officials emphasized that the War Against Drugs Punjab is not only focused on arrests but also on dismantling the entire supply chain of narcotics in the state. Continuous monitoring, intelligence-based operations, and public participation are being highlighted as key strengths of the campaign.

Government Reaffirms Commitment to a Drug-Free Punjab with Strict Enforcement Measures

The government has reiterated its commitment to making Punjab drug-free through the War Against Drugs Punjab, ensuring strict action against offenders and strengthening law enforcement mechanisms.

Authorities further added that the combined impact of the War Against Drugs Punjab and gangster crackdown operations is gradually restoring law and order while creating a safer environment for citizens.
