Haryana : a major initiative to accelerate development across Haryana, Chief Minister Nayab Saini chaired a State-Level DISHA Committee meeting to review progress in key sectors, including education, health, housing, water management, and sports. The CM instructed officials to conduct surveys in rapidly expanding urban areas to determine the need for new schools, ensuring children do not have to travel long distances for education.

Focusing on bringing dropout students back into mainstream education, officials reported that out of 34,000 children who had left school, 18,796 received six months of training, and 15,386 have successfully rejoined formal schooling.

CM Nayab Saini Reviews Health Initiatives; Medical Equipment Worth ₹2.39 Crore Approved

In the health sector, special attention was given to making Haryana TB-free and anemia-free. The state achieved 98% coverage under the National Deworming Campaign. To strengthen healthcare infrastructure, the government approved the purchase of medical equipment worth ₹2.39 crore, including slit lamps, radiant warmers, LED phototherapy units, and plastic molded pallets, which will be distributed to civil hospitals and neonatal care units for improved diagnosis, treatment, and storage.

Reviewing housing schemes, officials reported that over 76,000 houses have been approved under the CM Rural Housing Scheme, with more than 41,000 completed. Thousands of houses are also under construction under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban). The CM Nayab Saini directed officials to expedite financial assistance under the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Housing Scheme for eligible beneficiaries.

In Panchkula, a seminar on NABL accreditation highlighted the importance of technical competence and adherence to international standards in testing laboratories to ensure quality and reliability.

Meanwhile, the 39th Surajkund International Crafts Mela showcased Haryana’s rich art, culture, and traditional craftsmanship. Visitors explored traditional garments from Uttar Pradesh, silk and mirror work from Gujarat, and specialty pickles and snacks from Rajasthan, while performances by Haryanvi folk artists enriched the festive atmosphere.

Senior officials from multiple departments attended the meeting, and CM Nayab Saini directed that all development projects be completed within their stipulated timelines to further accelerate Haryana’s overall growth.
