In a major push for direct benefit transfer (DBT)–based welfare, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Saini on Tuesday released Rs. 1,431 crore to more than 56.34 lakh beneficiaries under 18 public welfare schemes, marking one of the state’s largest single-day disbursements in recent months. The announcement was made during a press conference addressed by the CM.
The disbursement included the fourth installment of the Deen Dayal Lado Lakshmi Yojana, social security pensions, cooking gas subsidies under the Har Ghar–Har Grihini Yojana, and incentives for milk producers, highlighting the government’s focus on targeted support for women, the elderly, vulnerable groups, and small producers.
Women-Centric Schemes
Under the Deen Dayal Lado Lakshmi Yojana, Rs. 193 crore was transferred directly to the accounts of 9,22,452 women, taking the cumulative release under the scheme to Rs. 634 crore across four installments. The scheme provides monthly financial assistance of Rs. 2,100 to eligible women aged 23 and above from families with annual incomes below Rs. 1 lakh, with extended eligibility up to Rs. 1.80 lakh for certain categories.

The CM Nayab Saini noted that 10,51,029 women applied through the mobile application launched on September 25, 2025, to mark Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya’s 109th birth anniversary. Over 9.22 lakh applicants were found eligible. From February 2026 onward, Rs. 1,100 will be directly credited to beneficiaries’ savings accounts each month, while Rs. 1,000 will go into a government-operated fixed deposit account. All eligible women in a family can avail of the scheme.
Social Security Pensions
On the same day, Rs. 1,098 crore was released toward old-age, widow, differently-abled, and other social security pensions, benefiting 34.14 lakh people. The government has instructed Additional Deputy Commissioners (ADCs) in all districts to hold grievance redress hearings twice a week to ensure timely resolution of complaints related to pension delays and eligibility.

Direct Benefit Transfers as Governance Tool
CM Nayab Saini highlighted that the large-scale disbursement reflects the government’s reliance on DBT for efficient welfare delivery, reducing leakages and ensuring that benefits reach intended recipients directly. The Rs. 1,431 crore disbursed in a single day underscores Haryana’s commitment to technology-enabled, high-volume welfare distribution as a key governance strategy.
