Haryana Vidhan Sabha hosts second edition of Yuva Samvad, engaging youth from 13 states on governance, development, and women empowerment.
The second edition of the two-day Haryana Yuva Samvad was inaugurated on Friday at the Haryana Vidhan Sabha, organized in collaboration with the Rajdhani Yuva Sansad. Haryana Vidhan Sabha Speaker Shri Harvinder Kalyan inaugurated the event by lighting the ceremonial lamp. The programme brings together 65 youth participants from 13 states across India.
Addressing the gathering, Shri Kalyan reflected on India’s history, noting that the nation had endured a long period of colonial rule, during which its rich culture and values were challenged. Yet today, India stands as the world’s largest democracy, steadily progressing on the path of development—a testament to the Constitution’s strength and the unity of its people. He emphasized that the Constitution underscores that the nation’s true strength lies in its citizens, and the youth play a pivotal role in realizing Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of a ‘Viksit Bharat’ by 2047.
Highlighting India’s diversity in languages, traditions, and cultures, Shri Kalyan noted that despite these differences, all share a common goal—the development of the nation and the state. He explained that while languages may vary across Legislative Assemblies, the mission of public representatives remains uniform: to frame effective, welfare-oriented policies that address public grievances and meet citizens’ needs—the true essence of democracy.

Shri Kalyan encouraged the youth to recognize the historical significance of the Vidhan Sabha building, where many eminent legislators have contributed to Haryana’s law-making and development. He expressed hope that today’s participants would, in the future, become public representatives, uphold democratic traditions, and make meaningful contributions to governance.
He also stressed the importance of constructive thinking, advising youth to focus on solutions despite diverse opinions in a democracy, thereby guiding society and the nation in a positive direction. Emphasizing women’s empowerment as crucial for national progress, he highlighted the recent historic legislation providing 33% reservation for women in Haryana.
During the programme, MLA Smt. Pooja Chaudhary, Vidhan Sabha Speaker’s Advisor Shri Ram Narayan Yadav, Haryana Yuva Samvad co-founder Shri Jai Saini, and Smt. Isha Kapoor addressed the youth. The second phase of the programme included a Question Hour and special sessions featuring in-depth discussions on sustainable development, industrial growth, environmental protection, responsible use of natural resources, and the Haryana Industrial Policy–2025.
