The Haryana Government, under the guidance of Dr. Sumita Misra, Additional Chief Secretary of the Health & Family Welfare Department, has approved the purchase of essential medical equipment worth Rs. 2.39 crore to strengthen healthcare infrastructure and enhance patient care across the state. The approved items include 25 slit lamps, 140 radiant warmers, 60 LED phototherapy units, and 1,575 plastic moulded pallets, which will be supplied to civil hospitals, neonatal care units, and government health institutions to improve diagnostic, treatment, and storage facilities.
The decision was taken during a meeting of the Special Standing Purchase Committee (Higher), chaired by Dr. Sumita Misra. The procurement will be carried out under a two-year rate contract, which also includes maintenance support to ensure uninterrupted operation of the equipment.

For neonatal care, 140 radiant warmers worth approximately Rs. 82 lakh will help maintain the optimal body temperature of newborns immediately after birth, reducing the risk of complications. Additionally, 60 LED phototherapy units, costing around Rs. 32 lakh, will be used for the treatment of neonatal jaundice, a common but potentially serious condition in newborns.
To improve logistics and storage, 1,575 plastic moulded pallets, valued at Rs. 51 lakh, will be supplied to HMSCL warehouses. These pallets will help with inventory management and ensure the safe storage of medicines and medical supplies.
Dr. Sumita Misra emphasized that this initiative will significantly upgrade healthcare delivery across Haryana, benefiting patients, particularly newborns and individuals requiring specialized eye care services.
